SKYPE COMPOSITION LESSONS with ALAIN MAYRAND
Alain has the ability to take what seems like abstract concepts and complex ideas and turn them into tools for writing music. It’s a deep level of understanding that Iv’e never experienced in 23 years of playing music. He has a high level of knowledge and skill and he knows how to pass on that knowledge to anyone willing to work for it. ~ Kenneth Schulte, Sand Diego CA
Alain has been teaching amateur and professional composers all over the world through Skype for many years now with great success.
These lessons are for everyone from the beginning composer just starting out to the professional composer needing to improve in certain areas of his craft. For all students goal is professional development.
The lessons are serious and intense but always fun. They are custom-tailored to the individual students needs and goals, and are very result-oriented. Everything is broken down into clear steps in order to give usable tools for the professional composer.
The lessons are done through Skype screen-sharing with a lot of written and played examples. Writing is done by hand in Photoshop and played on the keyboard.
Alain Mayrand is as skilled a teacher as he is a composer. He probably knows 100 ways to approach any given compositional problem and better yet he is able to concisely communicate his knowledge to others. I’d recommend lessons with Alain to any composer who is looking to reach their maximum potential. – Olajide Paris
